Back in 2002, the voluntary not-for-profit Whitby & District Tourism Association (WDTA) awarded Bow House the contract to publish the first ever tourism guide for this popular coastal destination.
Many years on, and still going strong, The Whitby Guidebook is a much-loved pocket guide: compact but informative, it has helped millions of visitors find their way around the town and promoted hundreds of Whitby businesses.
In the meantime, the Guidebook’s website, VisitWhitby.com, was originally launched by the WDTA in 1997 and is now riding high on Google for no end of ‘Whitby’ searches.
Pounding the streets of Whitby, we visited hundreds of establishments throughout the town and its neighbouring coastal villages over the years, and built a huge client base (and many friendships along the way!).
We continually refresh the Guidebook with new designs for editorials and adverts, and we keep the website up to date on a daily basis, ensuring its high position on Google and showcasing fabulous accommodation, eateries, places to visit and things to see and do.
"We are enormously proud to work for the Whitby & District Tourism Association (WDTA) in designing and publishing their annual Guidebook, showcasing one of the world’s most loved and well-known seaside resorts. Our working relationship with the WDTA spans over 15 years, having published every single Guidebook since the launch of the 2003 publication. It’s also a pleasure to work for Whitby Beacon Town Forum (WBTF), looking after Whitby’s top website and keeping it highly ranked on Google. Whitby holds a very special place in our hearts."
